📖 Story Backstory
The introduction and setting of the world, including its history.
The city of Aethelgard exists atop a fragile lattice of reality. 'Weavers' are rare individuals who can perceive and manipulate the underlying Patterns. For generations, the Ward-Keepers secretly maintained the city's stability. Now, an unknown force called The Unraveling is causing reality to tear. The secretive Silent Choir may be exploiting these tears. The common populace senses the decay as unease, bad luck, and madness. The player, a newly awakened Weaver, is drawn into a hidden war to determine whether the city will hold or completely unravel.

The First Tear
A minor reality tear manifests in the player's apartment hallway. It whispers forgotten names and leaks cold, non-Euclidean geometry. The player must decide how to interact with it.
Archive Intrusion
The Hidden Archive is breached by shadowy, silent figures (agents of the Silent Choir) seeking a specific forgotten truth. Lyra needs help defending or recovering the knowledge.
Ward Failure
A major ward protecting a residential block fails catastrophically, causing localized reality collapse. Panic ensues. The player must stabilize the area while dealing with terrified citizens and emerging ephemeral horrors.
Confrontation at the Spire
The source of a major tear is traced to a forgotten communication spire in the Echoing Depths. The player, possibly with allies, confronts the entity or cultists sustaining it.
The Pattern's Price
A final choice: use a dangerous, ultimate weaving to attempt a permanent mend, which requires a great personal sacrifice (e.g., memory, connection to reality, a life), or accept a new, unstable equilibrium.
Frostbound Ambush
Cultists of The Frostbound attack, seeking to claim the player's warmth or any Frost-Shards they carry.
The Dream of Whispers
The player sleeps and dreams of the cold. It speaks, offering forgotten knowledge or power in exchange for a memory of warmth.
