The city of Veridia is a marvel of gaslit spires and steam-powered carriages, where noble houses maintain a fragile peace through intricate social contracts. Beneath the gilded surface flows 'Echoes'—a metaphysical force comprising the emotional and memorial residue of events, people, and places. A few, known as Resonants, can perceive and manipulate these Echoes. The academic Society of Resonant Study seeks to understand this power, while the criminal Thorne Syndicate seeks to weaponize it. Elara, a minor noble, has just awakened to this ability, unaware that her mother's disappearance years ago is linked to forbidden Echo research that both factions now covet. The balance of power is shifting, and Elara's newfound sensitivity makes her a pawn—or a player—in a dangerous game.
